6 unnamed GMs participated today in a ReDraft of the BSL Sim League with the goal of the excercise being to create the best 12 man roster possible, to compete for the title, this year, and this year only, while also staying under the hard cap of $118,910,000. Participation in this excercise is how you will claim cash for both sims 2 AND 3. You get $7M if you particpate and answer the questions below. If you do not participate you can't claim cash for sims 2 or 3. In order to claim you must answer the following 6 questions. Failure to do so results in no cash being claimed, and blatent copying of another person's answers disqualifies you from claiming cash.

1. Rank the teams 1 - 6 in terms of liklihood of winning a title this year. I repeat, this year. The future does not matter.
2. Which was the best pick of the draft? Consider context.
3. Which was the worst pick of the draft? Consider context.
4. Who was the biggest snub that was not selected?
5. What stuck out most to you? Were there any trends that you noticed? Did anything surprise you?
6. Which 6 GMs do you think participated, and who do you think was responsible for each team?

1. Rank the teams 1 - 6 in terms of liklihood of winning a title this year. I repeat, this year. The future does notmatter.
1. Team 6
2. Team 4
3. Team 5
4. Team 2
5. Team 3
6. Team 1

2. Which was the best pick of the draft? Consider context.
Gonna go with KAT at 16, mainly because he has a low cap hit and he’s very talented. Could’ve gone sooner and someone would’ve saved cap to use down the line.

3. Which was the worst pick of the draft? Consider context.
Joe Johnson the worst pick imo because if im trying to win I don’t willingly take a wing with C defense when I already have Nick Young / Kemba / Delonte

4. Who was the biggest snub that was not selected?
the most noticeable player not selected is Telfiar

5. What stuck out most to you? Were there any trends that you noticed? Did anything surprise you?

Lots of good looking players on rookie contracts fell. Surprised Embiid fell that far.

6. Which 6 GMs do you think participated, and who do you think was responsible for each team?
I’d say probably GB, Donkey, Curry, Cloud, Swope, Brooks

Donkey responsible for team 1
Curry for team 2
Cloud for team 3
Swope for team 4 (got his man Dwight back)
GB for team 5
Brooks team 6

4. Probably KD but hes got a big contract
5. Way more big men in the top 50 then you would think should be
6. Cloud since he posted this hes probably team 2, Donkey team 1, wanna say ebbs were in this but maybe not since they on Ebbs away time. GB maybe the AD team, Curry team 6, besides that no clue. Maybe brooks a team

1. Team 2, Team 6, Team 4, Team 5, Team 3, Team 1

2. This is really tough without context. Samardo Samuels @ 32 or Jokic @ 42 stands out to me the most. Good picks for cheap, productive post players.

3. Originally I thought Yao at first glance, but probabaly Dame Lillard at #10. Weird fit with Kyrie, plus it’s hard to justify taking him that early when there are a ton of comparable PGs available later in the draft.

4. Probably Lou Williams. He’s really good.

5. Unless you hit on the top 3 picks, i think the smart strategy would be to wait for your PG until later in the draft. So many good PGs in this league. Thought Teams 4,5, 6 did that well.

6. Team 1- Donkey
Team 2 - Josh
Team 3 - NC
Team 4 - Curry
Team 5 - Frank
Team 6 - Cloud

3. Joe Johnson definitely. He old and expensive
4. Telfair not getting picked is kinda wild.
5. Lots of young elite talent. Most of the top 12 picks are under 30 years old.
6. Team 1: Ty. Team 2: Gopher. Team 3: Ebbs. Team 4: Frank. Team 5: GB. Team 6: Cloud

Interesting ReDraft Notes:

- Bullets, Magic, Heat and Celtics all tied for the league lead with the most players selected with 6 each from their respective teams, that’s 33.33% of the entire draft pool coming from 4 teams, who all happen to be in the same division (Atlantic)

- 48 out of 72 (66.67%) of the players taken in this draft were from the Eastern Conference

- Kings and Mavericks tied for the most players selected in the Western Conference with 4 players each

- Through the first 6 rounds (half-way point of the draft) 80% of the players selected belonged to the Eastern Conference (29/36)

- 7 teams had 0 combined players selected (Nuggets, Lakers, Spurs, Blazers, Hawks, Nets, Pacers)

- Of the 7 teams with 0 combined players selected, 3 of them are attempting to win / do not own their 1st round picks in this season or in multiple seasons in the immediate future. All 3 of those teams are in the Western Conference (Nuggets, Lakers and Blazers)

- Only 7 true SGs were selected in the entire draft (9% of the total draft board), and the majority of big name SGs who were paid max or near max money went undrafted. It is not only the weakest position in the league, but it may be the position least conducive to winning titles in the league and people don’t feel the need to spend big money at the 2 guard spot. It appears people would rather opt to play a PG up a spot at the 2, or move a SF down to the 2 for a rebounding boost, as opposed to pay a premium so an actual SG.

2, 3, GAP, 6, 1, 5,

2. Which was the best pick of the draft? Consider context.

I really like Melo at 14. Melo getting to be the third most important piece on a title team really highlights/supports his best traits.

3. Which was the worst pick of the draft? Consider context.

Paul George. Went too high in general but Dame was right there.

4. Who was the biggest snub that was not selected?

Telfair and Lou are good answers but Steven Adams would help quite a few teams.

5. What stuck out most to you? Were there any trends that you noticed? Did anything surprise you?

The game really highlights how far above everyone else Steph, Kemba, and Kyrie are. Uphill battle not picking top three.

6. Which 6 GMs do you think participated, and who do you think was responsible for each team?

1) NC (only person who picks Yao that early.)
2) Hooper (Wishes he had my team.)
3) GB
4) Curry
5) Donkey
6) Clpud

2. Which was the best pick of the draft? Consider context.

Derrick Rose going at Pick 40 is interesting. Thought he would have gone higher. Good pick for Team 4 as they have a distributor to get the ball to their bigs, and can score the rock pretty efficiently, while also keeping his turnovers low.

3. Which was the worst pick of the draft? Consider context.
Paul George. How can any wing go before Melo and Lebron?!

4. Who was the biggest snub that was not selected?

Sebestian Telfair definitely should have been picked as a point guard. Coming off a Finals MVP and he just gets passed over. Was going to say Bojan Bogdanovic, but remembered that he doesn't play an ounce of defense, but could be the 1-3 backup!

5. What stuck out most to you? Were there any trends that you noticed? Did anything surprise you?
Clearly bigs and point guards are the most important positions. Only three wings were selected in the first three rounds before they started picking up during Round 4. Not that this is too surprising

2. I like the Deron Williams pick for team 6 at 30 just in general. Got a great starting PG after attempting to build a core first.

3. Chris Paul at 18 by team 6 is a pick I don't like. Deron was there and was picked later by that team, could've used that cap space elsewhere.

4. Echoing most people when I say Telfair was the biggest snub. I understand he comes at a high price so teams couldn't afford him after a certain point.

5. Only 3 players selected have a contract this year over $20M. Most teams wanted cheap depth and solid starters over guys with that big of a cap hit.

2. Which was the best pick of the draft? Consider context.

Brandon Roy at 27 is the best pick imo. To get such a big star that late is crazy.

3. Which was the worst pick of the draft? Consider context.

George Hill at 17. I get that he doesn't make a lot of money. But, that's just way too high for him even with a lower contract.

4. Who was the biggest snub that was not selected?

Victor Oladipo, though I'm biased. He also just signed for the higher cap jump max, so I do get why. Also, this is for 1 year only.

5. What stuck out most to you? Were there any trends that you noticed? Did anything surprise you?

People really went after high level bigs early. This league lacks high level bigs, so it's not too surprising. But, I probably would've tried to wait longer to take some of them.

3,2,4,6,5,1

2. Which was the best pick of the draft? Consider context.

Derrick Rose @40 is a steal relative to where the other top tier pgs went

3. Which was the worst pick of the draft? Consider context.

George Hill went early and also there were better options available. He is cheap relatively but think he could have been had later.

4. Who was the biggest snub that was not selected?

KCP and Wilson Chandler come to mind, both on the pricey side though

5. What stuck out most to you? Were there any trends that you noticed? Did anything surprise you?

The eastern conference has staggeringly more talent. This was kind of known anyway but this really put things into perspective. Not just purely talent either but winning value pieces.

Team 2, Team 6, Team 3, Team 1, Team 4, Team 5

2. Which was the best pick of the draft? Consider context.
Sherill at 38. Best team got him too nonetheless. Or Jokic at 42 because that versatility off the bench would be so dirty.

3. Which was the worst pick of the draft? Consider context.
This is harder but I didn't realize understand the logic of Joe Johnson. There were wayyyyy better guys drafted after him.

4. Who was the biggest snub that was not selected?
Sebastian Telfair. He was better then some teams starting PGs imo.

5. What stuck out most to you? Were there any trends that you noticed? Did anything surprise you?
Kemba/Steph/Kyrie are in a league of their own but after that there are a ton of really good PGs that made sense to take later in the draft if you missed out on these guys.

2. Which was the best pick of the draft? Consider context.

KAT at 16. Combination of being an actual star and having such a lot cap hit as a position of scarcity

3. Which was the worst pick of the draft? Consider context.

44. Rudy Gay - for the opposite reason as the answer above. Saved cap for too long to cash in on a 14 ppg guy

4. Who was the biggest snub that was not selected?

Nurk. B B B rebounder with 82 strength. Other guys who aren't as good AND make more got picked ahead

5. What stuck out most to you? Were there any trends that you noticed? Did anything surprise you?

Not a lot of rookie scale contracts were selected, which means that generally, guys here aren't ready to contribute to winning until a meaningful way until later in their career

Best Pick: Rose was incredible value as many others have said. I also think Roy went a bit lower than he should have, possibly because of his poor sim 1/my dc.

Worst Pick: Joe Johnson went too high imo, surprised he went before Roy for example with only 6 mil difference in salary. To me that pick made the least sense. Paul George also feels like he went too early as well.

Telfair is the obvious one to me, especially after last years playoff run. I also am surprised that Lou Williams didn't go as well.

It's what always stands out to me lol and was already pointed out in Clouds notes. 4 teams in the Atlantic division had 24 players chosen. Heat had almost 1/5 of the players chosen at pick 28 when Roy went (last player from my starting 5 drafted) and I can't even make the finals out east. The gap between conferences is massive.

1. Rank the teams 1 - 6 in terms of liklihood of winning a title this year. I repeat, this year. The future does not matter.
- 6, 2, 4, 3, 1, 5

2. Which was the best pick of the draft? Consider context.
- Chris Paul at #18. Team 6 gambled by not taking an upper echelon point guard in the first two rounds but were fortunate to snag CP3 to team up with the best wing in the league and arguably the top center (top 3 for sure). Honorable mention would be Deron Williams at #30 by Team 6.

3. Which was the worst pick of the draft? Consider context.
- This relates to the previous question because I think Team 5 taking George Hill with CP3 and Deron on the board is a brutal miss. I've never been a George Hill fan in this league so that's probably why this jumps out so much, but having a trio of AD, Lopez and CP3 gives you dominant bigs with a star point guard which is a nice recipe for success. They even added a couple nice wings immediately afterwards which may have swung them towards the top end of my power rankings instead of coming in last.

4. Who was the biggest snub that was not selected?
- Pretty much the same answer as everyone else, but I'll go Telfair. He's elite and coming off a season in which he carried the Wolves to a ship. Not much else to say.

5. What stuck out most to you? Were there any trends that you noticed? Did anything surprise you?
- The biggest thing that surprised me is that someone clearly tried to frame me by taking Dwight and PG in the first two rounds. There's an agenda being pushed around here and someone is trying to put a target on my back.

6. Which 6 GMs do you think participated, and who do you think was responsible for each team?
- Definitely seems like this was oriented around the Atlantic Division GMs mostly because they're so proud of their accomplishments and love to talk about how great they are.

Team 2, Team 3, Team 6, Team 4, Team 5, Team 1

2. Which was the best pick of the draft? Consider context.
- Derrick Rose in round 7 is pretty good. Able to grab two wings + 2 bigs to start the lineup along with a all-star caliber PG is pretty good.

3. Which was the worst pick of the draft? Consider context.
- George Hill. Him going over a few better guards in round 3 seems pretty early.

4. Who was the biggest snub that was not selected?
- Zach LaVine. B+ B+ rookie. Nuff said

5. What stuck out most to you? Were there any trends that you noticed? Did anything surprise you?
Wings are the least desired position. Point guards went first followed by a few bigs.

2. Which was the best pick of the draft? Consider context.
- round 3 Carmelo Anthony. One of the best if not the best wing scorer right now. feel like he should have gone in first two rounds
3. Which was the worst pick of the draft? Consider context.
- feel like team 3 could have picked someone other than Damian Lillard. Kyrie is the clear PG of the team. could have had Irving, Carmelo, Lebron, Gasol as big four
4. Who was the biggest snub that was not selected?
- Thaddeous Young making 5-7M and having versatility of playing positions 2-4 with A defense makes him a great bench player
5. What stuck out most to you? Were there any trends that you noticed? Did anything surprise you?
- Team 2 is what I look for in a FBB team. great PG,wing + defensive bigs. I want to say this is Ebbs type of team

1. Rank the teams 1 - 6 in terms of liklihood of winning a title this year. I repeat, this year. The future does not matter.

1st - Team 6. Team 6 absolutely killed it in my opinion, Their frontcourt is absolutely absurd with Al Jeff/Jonas/Jokic/Blatche. Then the have Cp3/Kawhi two of the more elite players at their positions. Deron, Mikal , AK47, and Marko as role players is just icing on the cake for this roster

2nd - Team 3. Team 6 had the most elite frontcourt, Team 3 has the most elite backcourt here. Dame/Kyrie is just nutty...then add splash bros Klay and Battle plus ROTY Murray and it's a wrap. Lebron as the 5th best starter on this team is a perfect role for him at SF, and their frontcourt is very FBB friendly with Gasol Monroe Okafor and Biedrens #rebounds&blocksbaby

3rd - Team 4. I really love the hypothetical starting 5 here: Dwight/KAT down low is dope, Rose/Roy/PG13 is damn good as well. This team doesn't feel as loaded as the ones mentioned above as Asik / Sully /AC / Rudy F just doesnt have the same buzz as the bench guys above. Still a very good ass drafted team

4th - Team 2. Horford and Curry is filthy could you imagine if they were actually teammates!!! But fr Curry/Melo with Tobias as a 3nD SF is a dream offensively. Horford locks down the paint, I don't love the Harrelson/Haywood post pieces but the backcourt is good enough to carry them. J Thompson Sherrill and Shard are very nice bench pieces as well

5th - Team 5 - This might be the best defensive team of the group. Lopez/AD/Gay/Turner/Hill is not going to allow a single easy bucket. McDermott provies a nice scoring punch off the bench as well. Other than that though I don't love the bench, feel like they are asking for too much out of Samuels, Trey Burke, and Delon Wright.

6th - Team 1 - They got the best player in Kemba, but dont love what they did the rest of the draft. They feel like a greeme ball team with shot chuckers in Kemba/West/Young then have Yao/Randolph/Embiid in the post 3 bigs who are each vastly different players. Jo Johnson's corpse coming off the bench with Buddy Hield who is basically a knock off JJ. just a bunch of weird fits all around imo

2. Which was the best pick of the draft? Consider context.

Derrick Rose 40 felt like a great pick, most teams had already went PG early so this GM was able to load up on wings (PG13, AC, Roy) and bigs (Dwight,KAT,Asik) before taking a point guard who honestly is a perfect fit for that group

3. Which was the worst pick of the draft? Consider context.

Paul George. Best pick and worst pick by the same team lol. PG13 does not feel like a top 10 player to me, i'd personally take Kevin Durant over PG straight up rn, they have the same exact contract, and KD went undrafted. feels like a mega reach for good wing, fringe great, not elite

4. Who was the biggest snub that was not selected?

I think Nikola Mirotic on his cheap ass MLE contract going undrafted was a surprise. Dude can give you minutes at the 2-5 spots off the bench, great 3nD guy to just stash at the end of the bench. Telfair and KD are obviously the bigger snubs.

5. What stuck out most to you? Were there any trends that you noticed? Did anything surprise you?

Feels like there were a wide range of bigs taken. no consistency on where they would be picked or even consistency on some teams.

6. Which 6 GMs do you think participated, and who do you think was responsible for each team?

Team 1: DONKEY
Team 2: BEATS
Team 3: USER
Team 4: Player
Team 5: GB
Team 6: CLOUD
