Hey all, welcome to a new league! In this article, I will be ranking every GM's team they selected based on how they performed in CPU Pre. The number in the "Total" column is based off of many different offensive and defensive stats, however my PC crashed on me before I was able to copy the formula down. This does not consider any contracts that teams started with, this is purely off of team performance. Hope you enjoy!
Here are the teams from best to worst based off of the CPU Pre Sim plugged into my formula.
Here is the Draft Order (CPU Pre Ranking):
1.) Cloud - Orlando Magic (12)
2.) GB - Boston Celtics (20)
3.) Catdude - Los Angeles Lakers (4)
4.) Donkey - Los Angeles Clippers (28)
5.) Eberlicious - Dallas Mavericks (15)
6.) NCツ - .Minnesota Timberwolves (18)
7.) G9. - .Milwaukee Bucks (25)
8.) LukaSZN - .Washington Bullets (5)
9.) cavsfan817 - .Cleveland Cavaliers (16)
10.) Panic! - .Toronto Raptors (19)*
11.) FortsonBass - .Detroit Pistons (14)
12.) The Godfather - .Denver Nuggets (10)
13.) Username - .Chicago Bulls (2)
14.) AiRuPtHeRe™ - .Golden State Warriors (8)
15.) mngopher35 - .Miami Heat (9)
16.) daulten780 - .Seattle SuperSonics (1)
17.) Scott - .Utah Jazz (7)
18.) monta8curry - .Phoenix Suns (13)
19.) notail - .New Jersey Nets (11)
20.) BeatsHaveADream - .San Antonio Spurs (3)
21.) hokeyrules - .Vancouver Grizzlies (26)*
22.) Kings - .Philadelphia 76ers (21)
23.) Biancardi33 - .Houston Rockets (27)
24.) Foreman - .Portland Trail Blazers (6)
25.) Curry - .New York Knicks (17)
26.) BradS4President - .Sacramento Kings (29)
27.) Xxplayerxx23 - .Atlanta Hawks (24)
28.) yrtb - .Indiana Pacers (23)
29.) Mexi - .Charlotte Hornets (22)
*Later swapped teams
Top Five Differences:
1. Donkey - Los Angeles Clippers - Difference of 24
T2. GB - Celtics, G9 - Bucks, Foreman - Blazers - Difference of 18
3. BeatsHaveADream - San Antonio Spurs - Difference of 17
4. Daulten780 - Seattle Supersonics - Difference of 15
5. NCツ - Minnesota Timberwolves - Difference of 12
Five Interesting Observations:
1. Donkey wanted to take on the worst situation available at his draft spot, and he was mostly spot on with doing so based purely off of performance.
2. The Top 10 only saw 2 teams that performed in the top 10 drafted (Catdude - Lakers, Ebbs - Bullets). Alternatively, there were also only 2 teams that were drafted in the bottom 10 that performed in the top 10 (Beats - Spurs, Foreman - Blazers).
3. Daulten, aka Best GM in the League, snagged the best performing team in the middle of the draft. He has big shoes to fill, but as a big boy, I'm sure he can do it.
4. For what I know, five GMs drafted (or swapped to) their hometown/favorite team. This list is: GB, Catdude, G9, Cavsfan, and Hokeyrules.
5. Voted as the most overrated GMs of select groupings, Catdude and Ebbs are the only two who selected teams that performed in the top 10. GMs with at least 2 votes outside of the two listed above were GB, Donkey, Curry, Player, and Frank.
Bonus Fact/Question: The 4 options of GMs to win a title in a one year window were ranked: Hank, Air, Foreman, Brad, and then Daulten. Who do you think has the best chance to do so out of the teams listed?
