Veteran Mentorship:
Start a veteran next to or ahead of a prospect that also plays their similar position. The Veteran and Prospect must be similar positions (bigs mentor bigs, wings mentor wings, guards mentor guards). The veteran must be in the starting line up on the team's depth chart a minimum of 5 sims. If the veteran gets injured and has to miss sims that will not cancel out the mentorship boost. At the end of the season the prospect will receive one attribute boost based off of the veteran's highest rated attribute. The scale for that is listed below:
+4 for 90+
+3 for 80+
+2 for 70+
+1 for 60+

Prospects can receive a maximum of 1 veteran mentorship camps.

Cost: 5M

The "Veteran Mentorship" will be posted and kept up with in the Spends Thread. The Spends tracker (NC) will keep track of it and make sure all of the stipulations are correctly enforced.

Veteran Requirements: The veteran player must be 30 years of age AND have 8 years of playing experience. The Mentorship program is 1:1, meaning one veteran can only mentor one prospect at a time.

Prospect Requirements: The prospect must still be on their rookie contract. (Yes 2nd round picks only have a 3 year window (if extended) for this, while 1st round picks have a 4 year window)

Depth Chart Requirements: The veteran must be in the starting line up for a minimum of 5 sims. The prospect can be in the starting line up next to or come off the bench, but it must be at their position. (i.e. Vet PF can start at PF, and rookie PF can start at C or come off bench at PF/C, but NOT start at SF or come off bench at SG/SF). Prospects must be on the depth chart as well, meaning players in the DLG would NOT be able to also get a veteran mentorship.

Attribute Boost Requirements: What makes this more fun is it almost like a game of roulette. You will not know what boost your player is getting until the end of the season when the commissioner inputs the camp. Unless of course the GM spends GM cash to scout attributes on the veteran player. The attribute boost is decided by whatever the Veteran player's highest attribute rating is. Then the boost amount will be determined by what that number is. The scale is listed below:
+4 for attribute ratings of 90+
+3 for attribute ratings of 80+
+2 for attribute ratings of 70+
+1 for attribute ratings of 60+

If Stipulations Are Not Met: If a team fails to correctly meet one of the requirements the Spends Tracker will refund their Veteran Mentorship Camp purchase to the teams bank.

Commissioner / Spends Tracker Requirements: The commissioner will input the Veteran Mentorship boosts following the season at the same time he inputs DLG boosts. Prior to the Playoff Sim the Spends Tracker will accumulate all of the Veteran Mentorships and post them in one single post on the DLG thread so the commissioner won't have to go searching for the camps in the spend thread. The commissioner will post a reply in the DLG thread of what boosts each player received.

Summer League Adjustment: If passed, there will be a nerf to Summer League to keep the league from becoming inflated. Changes will be shown below:

OLD:
Improvements
-Rookie players get +1 to 5*different*categories and +2 to potential.
-Sophomore players get +1 to 3*different*categories and +1 to potential.
NEW:
Improvements
-Rookie players get +1 to 3*different*categories and +2 to potential.
-Sophomore players get +1 to 3*different*categories and +1 to potential.

  • DID YOU KNOW: Of the 7 sub .300 teams we had tanking this past season in BSL, there were only two players total who could have been a veteran for a "Veteran Mentorship" Camp. The Players were Rod Strickland and Doug Christie for the Indiana Pacers.
  • DID YOU KNOW: There are currently 17 players in BSL that fit the mentorship requirements and could offer a prospect a +4 boost to their top attribute

Example:

The above screenshot is from a newer version of FBB, but we will use the ratings shown as an example.

Houston Rockets spend 5 mil for Yao Ming to Mentor Rookie Anthony Davis.

At the end of the season Anthony Davis would receive a +2 boost to his Post Defense. That is because Yao Ming's highest attribute rating is his post defense at 76 overall.
