5. Philadelphia 76ers - SG Tyreke Evans
6. Miami Heat - SF Gordon Hayward
7. Milwaukee Bucks - PG Sergio Llull
8. Charlotte Hornets - PF Jan Vesely
9. Golden State Warriors (via Rockets) - C Roy Hibbert

13. Los Angeles Clippers - PF Jon Brockman
1. Golden State Warriors - SF Paul George
- There are a couple acceptable ways to go at the top of the draft, but PG going #1 was always the most predictable. He’s the most polished 19 year old available which allows for a very high upside. PG fits the Warriors youth movement pretty well with Blake Griffin and Eric Gordon. Time will tell if they should have taken a swing on a point guard here in Kemba Walker.
2. San Antonio Spurs - SG James Harden
- With the Spurs attempting to flip the page on the Tim Duncan era, they turn their attention to James Harden. Harden looks to be a prolific scorer in the league and should create a solid duo next to Tony Parker in the meantime. Harden being 20 years old creates a little safer floor than PG with just as much upside. Operating off ball at this level and turnovers will be his biggest challenges.
3. Washington Wizards - SG Klay Thompson
- Pretty much a no brainer in the Wizards stay at #3 here. Drafting Curry last year has this team set at point guard for a long time and now they have a chance to create the sim league splash brothers. With just as much upside as PG, the Wiz look to become an elite shooting squad.
4. Minnesota Timberwolves - PG Kemba Walker
- The Timberwolves need help all over to surround Al Jefferson and should be happy to take any one of these top 4 players. Landing Kemba could kickstart their build if the 19 year old pans out at such a premium position. While still a little raw, it’s not lost on many of what this kid is capable of in the BSL. Can he replicate the player he became two iterations ago? Either way, the Wolves had a chance to lose their pick this year (top 10 protected) and jumped up four spots on top of that to be in a spot for the last of the top tier prospects. That’s a home run in itself.
5. Philadelphia 76ers - SG Tyreke Evans
- The 76ers are in a tough spot here. The Timberwolves jumped them and it could cost them dearly. This team could use a traditional center and a point guard of the future. But this draft’s centers are either super raw or have a little less upside than you’d want at #5. Also, the top PG prospect just went a pick ahead. If the 76ers hold this pick, the most reasonable thing to do is take Tyreke Evans. Evans is a superb athlete and could be a better long term plan than JR Smith at SG.
6. Miami Heat - SF Gordon Hayward
- The Heat have some fun young pieces in OJ Mayo, Andrew Bynum and Marc Gasol alongside Dwyane Wade and find a good fit here with Hayward. He’s one of the top shooting prospects in the draft and has the potential to become a really good wing if he comes out hard, adopts Hest culture and survives training camp.
7. Milwaukee Bucks - PG Sergio Llull
- At this point of the lotto, we enter murky waters. Llull looks like one of the more polished scorers but not quite the high end potential. The Bucks need a few wings and a point guard, so I could see them going elsewhere here but I also believe you need to take swings on point guards if you don’t have a clear cut guy on the board.
8. Charlotte Hornets - PF Jan Vesely
- If it weren’t for having a couple warm bodies of new blood around this iteration, I would need no explanation for this. High potential teens and panic! go hand in hand. Not to mention, Vesely popped for the P-man a few iterations back and he’s never had fonder days.
9. Golden State Warriors (via Rockets) - C Roy Hibbert
- Warriors nab a big man with their second lottery pick. Hibbert comes with his weaknesses but should be a solid rim protector from the jump. With solid development, Roy should become a good big man in the league due to his shot blocking skills.
10. Toronto Raptors - C Greg Monroe
- The fall off is hitting hard at this pick and the Raptors have to take a swing at the last prospect with big upside. Monroe is very raw but still young enough to boost. The other options available look to be role players at best and while Monroe may end up in that same category, it’s worth the risk to take him here.
11. Sacramento Kings - SF Chandler Parsons
- I’ll tell you here how Parons doesn’t do much for me personally but he’s the top potential guy left on the board, has good size and will probably flourish just like every other player that GB drafts.
12. New York Knicks - SF Quincy Poindexter
- This guy may not get too much better but he seems to have the best offensive game of class for now. I wouldn’t expect him to become a franchise cornerstone by any means but he does look like he could be useful to a lot of team and pretty quickly.
13. Los Angeles Clippers - PF Jon Brockman
- With 6th man of the year, Brian Cardinal, entering a contract year, the Clippers draft his replacement in Jon Brockman. One of the more “ready” prospects in this draft, Brockman comes with more limited upside than you’d like in a lottery pick. Should become a useful player in the league regardless.
