For $1.5M, predict the division winners for each division and explain why you're choosing each. For each one you get correct at the end of the season, you earn an extra $1.0M.

EAST

Atlantic - Wizards

Wizards have arguably the best player in the league in Bob Pettit and look to be destined for greatness. Their young players are progressing the way GB needs them to and the additions he made in the offseason make this an easy pick for me. The Nets were the only other team I thought of, but Bird is a year away from them overtaking the Wizards again for the Atlantic.

Central - Hawks

NC put together the best PF/C duo in the league. This will be the swan song for Genitle and Staten, but the Hawks looked primed to come out of the East again. Their depth is even better than last season’s and NC always makes smart moves throughout the season.

WEST

Midwest - Spurs

Who else but me? After a Cinderella run to the WCF last season, the Spurs are primed for their best season since going 67-15 with Artis. The backcourt of Frankamp-Graham is a cheat code, and the upgraded front court featuring Marshall and Warney will help us be 10-15 wins better this season. I fully anticipate a 60+ win season and division crown barring injuries.

Pacific - Grizzlies

The toughest division in the league. The Grizzlies, Clippers, and Sonics were all potential options. I chose the Grizzlies for their wing star power plus Flor. Like the Spurs, barring injury they should hoist the divisional crown but the Sonics and Clippers will closely follow by 1-2 wins or so I estimate. The West is even more of a blood bath this season. Oh joy.

Nets - They have a better PG than Wizards
Hawks - They have Elvin Hayes
Spurs - They have a better PG than Thunder
Clippers - I like the two PG starting lineup

Nets - think our team is more complete than the Wizards
Hawks - snowy dominant big man duo in the league right now. Team is as deep as it comes
Spurs - all around team that got better this season
Grizzlies - didn’t get much worse. Don’t fix what ain’t broken..

Atlantic - Wizards

I think that the Nets snagging Moore was big for them (hehe), but the Wizards are still the best team top-to-bottom. They've been able to progress without selling off on their young talent, and with Pettit up front they should have an overwhelming advantage in just about every game this season. RyJo and Bingo have solidified themselves as top-tier scorers to propel the offense on nights that Pettit doesn't stuff the stat sheet, which should be few and far between.

Central - Hawks

Barring a major move from competitors, this once again feels like the Hawks' division to lose. The backcourt remains pretty weak, but Hayes/Bragg/Gentile in the frontcourt is an absolute terror, and this should be enough to power them to the top of the Central division.

Midwest - Spurs

I've been a fan of Graham for a while and I think that he compliments Frankamp extremely well in the backcourt. Really like what the Spurs have, and this division is pretty weak.

Pacific - Grizzlies

I really like what the Clippers have, but the dual wing combo of Erving/Hill is just too much in my opinion. Flor is still playing at a solid level in the backcourt, and the Grizzlies look poised for another title run.

Atlantic - Nets

They won the division last year and didn't get worse, The Wizards are better than they were last year but I don't think they've passed BKN yet

Central - Hawks

We are better than we were last year, one last ride for Gentile and Staten!

Midwest - Spurs

Donyell Marshall and Warney were extremely underrated pick ups for San Antonio. They will have even more flexibility for playoff DC voodoo this year

Pacific - Grizzlies

Donkey continues to hoard all of the best wings, and it will lead to another division title this year

Atlantic - Wizards: It's between the Wizards and the Nets. I think the Wiz are way better than last year, especially with RyJo going off in TC. And Pettit is an absolute monster.

Central - Hawks: This is probably the easiest guess of all the divisions. No other team in the Central is close, and the Hawks are better than they were last year when they took the division. They literally have two max players in Gentile/Staten on min deals.

Midwest - Spurs: They have a significantly improved frontcourt, which helps them edge out the Thunder. Eaton is a fiend on the blocks. And Frankamp/Graham is a nasty backcourt in an outside offense.

Pacific - Grizzlies: Probably the most competitive division there is. Grizzlies/Clippers/Sonics are all arguably top 5 teams in BSL currently. Hill/Dr J. on the wings is broken and I think Donkey could easily take another ring this year.

Atlantic: Wizards. Best team in the Atlantic. Ry Jo/Bingo/Petit a great trio. Beyhurst and Bernard King. These guys are set up to be a great team for the present and foreseeable future.
Central: Hawks: Hayes and Bragg up front. Gentile and Yebo at the three. Kalman/Jones/Staten in the backcourt. Deep team.
Midwest: Thunder: Shaquille Johnson is a stud. Him and Barrett is one of the best wings duo in the league. A little thin up front but I think they edge the Spurs in the Midwest.
Pacific: Clippers: Gilmore is obviously a stud. However Lucio and McCoy provide a great outside shooting and perimeter defense. SHort, Cartwright, Davenport, and Sims provide great depth.

Atlantic - BKN
Only real competition is the Wizards, but Larry Bird is the piece that pushes the Nets over the top.

Central - ATL
Acquiring Bragg fortifies their frontcourt, while their old man backcourt still has some juice left.

Midwest - SAS
Acquiring Warney fortifies their weak frontcourt, and Graham/Frankamp might be the best backcourt in the league.

Pacific - LAC
Lucio/McCoy/Artis has one more run in them, I can feel it.

Atlantic - Wizards ... Lots of scoring on that team. Having an elite big man gives them the edge over the Nets.

Central - Bucks ... I think they can find a way to sneak through and take the division. Bucks are itchy to trade and believe they make a move to put them over the top.

Midwest - Spurs ... dope backcourt who will score a lot of points. Nice rotation of bigs.

Pacific - Grizzlies ... lost stud muffin Jo Turner, but still two great wings and a leader PG in Flor. bigs are sus though.

Atlantic - Washington Wizards
This is in part due to the Nets being a little overrated last year and the Wizards being a little underrated. I think this year is another big step forward for the Wizards, which will close the gap. This will be a close race, barring injuries, and future trades. The Wizards are buyers right now it seems, so their roster may only be improving.

Central - Atlanta Hawks
Don't be fooled by preseason, the Pelicans are playing a Western Conference schedule, which is going to be tougher. I imagine they'll finish third in the division at best. The Hawks are poised to run this division again, it seems like Elvin Hayes is only getting better and better. Cutting back Gentile really illustrates how all in the Hawks are going this year. It's hard to imagine anyone else winning this division.

Midwest - San Antonio Spurs
This is a really competitive division, and the Thunder won this last year, but I think the Spurs did enough to make them the favorites. The Thunder overachieved last year and brought back mainly the same team as last season. The Spurs best move was adding Warney, I think that makes them a ~60 win team as opposed to a ~50 win team.

Pacific - Los Angeles Clippers
The Grizzlies took a little step back and are another year older. The Clippers core is looking a little bit stronger this year. Artis is a top five player all-time in this league, he's itching for another ring. The Clippers also have a lot of ammo to make moves, if they wanted to they could move Short and/or Cartwright and get a massive upgrade somewhere.
