The BSL has seen unlikely champions, unlikely lottery winners, and bad FA luck (sorry GB). This free agency, we have Alessandro Gentile who is a free agent for the first time.

Gentile is just 25 year old, and is arguably the most coveted free agent in league history. Coming off of a season where he averaged 23.9 ppg, 7.4 rpg, 3.2 apg while shooting 40% from 3PT land he is a fit for any system. His defense at A- really shines in the boxes and his versatility makes him a unicorn in this league. Gentile has fits in front of him besides staying in Boston, so let's take a look at 5 interesting possibilities...

Cleveland Cavaliers:

This would be an interesting fit for Gentile. The Cavs have a full max to offer and the ability to put him alongside a reigning MVP in Steve Nash. The team will no doubt miss Cole Anthony and Scottie Barnes but the addition of Gentile would propel them back into title contention. The Cavs would no doubt have to make some moves after this potentially happens to fill their needs but it's intriguing to say the least.

Washington Wizards:

The Wizards, spurned by Eric Flor last free agency are in an odd position. Usually GB has them in title contention but they are destined for a 41-41 finish as the roster is currently constructed. An addition of Gentile would (like the Cavs), propel them into title contention but additional moves would need to be made. Would GB move Guice or Vargas? The possibilities are endless, but this is a fun "what if" to consider.

Denver Nuggets:

The void left by Jon is more than just his complaining. The Nuggets planned to tank but it appears Gabe has other plans. The addition of Gentile would make them a playoff team but they do have the assets to make additional trades for a quick rebuild. This move would no doubt make Jon return to the league but will the fractured GM situation in Denver be a deterrent for Gentile?

Chicago Bulls:

The only thing crazier than RJ Barrett's career would be Ebbs pulling this off. A duo of Jones-Gentile would own the league for years to come and Ebbs quietly has executed a terrific rebuild over the past few seasons. I'm unsure if Ebbs has brought up FBB on his pods but this would no doubt be a move that would. It will be intriguing to see what Gentile decides after his visit to Chicago.

Phoenix Suns:

699

Arizona is full of two things. Cacti and PG's...well that is if you look at the Suns roster. Gentile will have no trouble getting the ball but Air will need to make moves to build a championship caliber roster if he pulls off Gentile. He, like Ebbs has done a nice job of asset management over the past few seasons and is a very underrated GM. We will see if this factors into Gentile's decision making process.
